DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SERIES AND PARALLEL WITH CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SERIES AND PARALLEL

SERIES

PARALLEL

In an electrical circuit, all the component arranged in a series line.

 In an electrical circuit, all the component arranged in parallel with each other.

If one component gets damaged, the whole circuit stops working.

If one component gets damaged, other components work properly because the rest of the circuit independent from each other.

The same amount of current flows through all the component.

Different current flows through each component in the circuit.

 If  Vt is the total voltage of the circuit then V1+V2+V3

It means that  Vt=V1+V2+V3

  If  Vt is the total voltage of the circuit then V1=V2=V3

It means that Vt =V1=V2=V3

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM OF SERIES AND PARALLEL

Iseries = I1=I2=I3

From the above figure, we can see that there are three different capacitors are connected in a series manner.

IparalleL = I1+I2+I3

From the above figure, we can see that there are three different capacitors are connected in a parallel manner.
