TYPES OF CIRCUIT & CONNECTION

TYPES OF CIRCUIT & CONNECTION

  • CLOSED CIRCUIT
  • OPEN CIRCUIT
  • SHORT CIRCUIT

CLOSED CIRCUIT- When the electric current passes through the circuit and LOAD works on its own it is called a closed circuit. The figure below shows that bulb [load] is lit as the current flows in the closed circuit.

OPEN CIRCUIT- When the electric current that does not flow in any manner in the circuit is called an open circuit, like (switch off, connection fault, component fault, etc) it means that circuit is not in a closed loop.
The figure below shows that bulb [load] is not lit as the current flows in the open circuit.

SHORT CIRCUIT- A short circuit is an abnormal or unconditional connection between two nodes of an electrical circuit intended to be different voltages. This results in excessive electric current flow through the circuit it gets breaks or overheats.

TYPES OF CONNECTION
  • SERIES CONNECTION
  • PARALLEL CONNECTION
SERIES CONNECTION- When two or more LOAD (bulb, LED, fan, etc) connected to each other in the series is called a series connection. If any bulb or LED fuse in the series connection, then the rest of the LOAD will not get a power supply. The below figure shows the series connection circuit.

PARALLEL CONNECTION- In parallel connection all LOAD are connected in multiple paths, but each load has the same voltage across it. The given below figure shows that how the current flow in the parallel connection circuit.
